Question #1 Will you work diligently to bring the Town of Georgina’s Official Plan and Zoning Bylaw into conformity with York Region’s new Official Plan, as required by Ontario's Planning Act, in order to prohibit development on all of our wetlands and significant woodlands including those located in the North Gwillimbury Forest?
*At the September 3, 2014 Georgina Town Council meeting these elected officials rejected the North Gwillimbury Forest Alliance’s request that they direct Town Staff to prepare amendments to the Town’s Official Plan to bring it into conformity with York Region’s Official Plan, as they are required to do by the Planning Act of Ontario. Question #2: Do you believe that the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority should refuse to issue a permit that would allow Metrus Developments to proceed with the Maple Lake Estates mobile home park on the Paradise Beach-Island Grove provincially significant wetland in the North Gwillimbury Forest?
Question #3: Will you promise to accept donations for your 2014 municipal election campaign from individuals only, and refuse donations from corporations and unions?
*At the October 8, 2014 All Candidates Meeting in Keswick, Mayor Grossi said that he will accept corporate donations for his municipal election campaign.
