*At the September 3, 2014 Georgina Town Council meeting these elected officials rejected the North Gwillimbury Forest Alliance’s request that they direct Town Staff to prepare amendments to the Town’s Official Plan to bring it into conformity with York Region’s Official Plan, as they are required to do by the Planning Act of Ontario.


Question #2: Do you believe that the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority should refuse to issue a permit that would allow Metrus Developments to proceed with the Maple Lake Estates mobile home park on the Paradise Beach-Island Grove provincially significant wetland in the North Gwillimbury Forest?

The North Gwillimbury Forest includes the York Regional Forest and the Arnold C. Matthews Nature Reserve. The Reserve will be cut off from the rest of the forest by Metrus' proposed Maple Leaf Estates.
